Don’t repeat my mistake. After I’d provided my arrival time and phone number and paid the full amount requested through the booking app, I arrived at the rooms and was told I had to go to another hotel to collect the keys and pay another 40€. The manager on the phone said he was filling in for a manager on vacation, but he was actually working at the other hotel and helping its manager bring in a few extra euros. When I asked to speak with the accommodation manager, he said that person was on vacation and unavailable. He was also dealing with other hotel problems, including keys he had lost for a room. At first he claimed the extra money was for cleaning, and kept insisting on that. After two hours of arguing and shouting in frustration, even asking police officers who happened to be passing by to help, nothing changed. The officers’ arrival did at least get him to admit I’d paid the amount the app requested, and suddenly the person in charge was on the phone. That person was rude and brazen, saying the room cost more and I had to pay extra if I wanted to stay, even though the app had shown a lower price. It was past midnight, we wanted to sleep, and after all that hassle we paid and went to bed. Then came more unpleasant surprises. Room 5 was one of the dirtiest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. You reach it by a narrow outside wooden staircase that even a small suitcase can’t easily get up. There’s a terrace shared with two other rooms. Cold air kept coming through the old wooden window and door. The room was very narrow, the mattress was terrible, and the small bathroom didn’t even have a curtain. There was no coffee, despite what had been stated, just a kettle and two glasses. I travel often for work, both abroad and at home, and this is the first time I’ve had such a bad experience because I rushed into booking. I hope they stop making money this way.
