Claridge Hotel

The location was the only good part of this stay. I've never seen a room or bedding this dirty. The duvets were shockingly filthy and didn't even have proper covers. The pillows were extremely old and looked like they might be soaked with bodily fluids. One pillowcase wasn't enough, so we had to wrap them in double sheets to make them usable. The hygiene was completely unacceptable. A good location can't make up for bed linen and a room in this condition. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who cares about cleanliness.

There were bedbugs on the floor, walls, bed, and mattress, plus cockroaches on the tables and floor. The mess was everywhere, worse in the places you couldn't see. We stayed less than five minutes because we were afraid the bedbugs would get on us. Don't come here unless you want to take something alive home from your vacation along with your memories. Claridge Hotel's central position made it easy to explore, with public transport, restaurants, and several major attractions nearby. It's also very affordable, so it may do for a short stay if all you need is a place to sleep in the center. For anything longer, the basic, no-frills setup may not be ideal. The entrance smelled unpleasant, and my small room had worn older furniture. It was functional but didn't feel warm or comfortable. The receptionist wasn't especially friendly at check-in, and asked me to leave my room key at the front desk during my stay, which felt unusual and inconvenient.

We arrived at 1 a.m. and only needed to stay half a night before continuing to the islands. The price had me expecting less, so I was really surprised by the room and the staff. We enjoyed it enough to extend our stay. I strongly recommend it!
