Dipson's at Gazi

Getting to the metro is easy, and the hotel itself was clean, but I couldn’t get a decent night’s sleep. Several techno clubs nearby play bass-heavy music through the night. Sound comes through the room door, and so does light from the hallway. The air conditioning was another problem: there’s little precision to the settings, and after about an hour the room felt like a refrigerator.

We found bugs in the bed that looked a lot like bedbugs, so we left room 301 in the middle of the night, the evening of July 10-July 11, to avoid carrying an infestation in our luggage. We booked another hotel at the last minute, took a taxi, washed all our clothes at the recommended 60 degrees, and some things were ruined by the heat. After returning to our country, we bought a steam cleaner to treat everything else. The hotel said bugs in beds are common in Athens in summer. We’ve visited Athens at least twice a year for over 15 years and had never had this happen before.

After booking through booking dot com, I came across the reviews here and was shocked to see that another guest had found bedbugs less than two months earlier. I asked the property to cancel my reservation, but they refused. I’ve attached the conversation. You can decide whether this is where you want to spend your time in Athens.

The room was very clean, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I only stayed one day before my flight, and they let me check in early, which I appreciated. They also pointed me to the x95 bus to the airport, saving me $50. Thanks for a great stay.
