Divani Caravel Hotel

Stefania was so attentive at breakfast and made sure we had what we needed. I stayed for a week, and seeing her smiling face each morning got the day off to a good start. She made being away from home feel pleasant. Thanks again, Stefania! The hotel itself is quiet and comfortable, very upscale, and they take good care of their guests. Don’t skip the breakfast buffet.

The warm, attentive team at the rooftop restaurant and bar made our stay more comfortable. We also enjoyed the breakfast and its wide selection, though a few of the breakfast staff could have been more patient and friendly. Overall, the hospitality made us feel cared for, and we’d be happy to return. We spent a wonderful week at Divani Caravel in October for my wife’s birthday. Before we arrived, Xenia from the Concierge team arranged a lovely birthday surprise and made us feel welcome. The Concierge Manager, Ignatios, was friendly and kept things running smoothly throughout our stay. Thanks to the team for making the celebration so memorable.

Being told at the last minute that Emirates passengers had to check out, with no advance notice unless we paid to extend the stay, added more stress. I was already stranded in Athens after an Emirates flight cancellation. Housekeeping repeatedly left out basic things like hand towels and glasses, and reception staff often seemed impatient. I also felt guests were treated noticeably differently at times, which made me uncomfortable. For a five-star hotel, I expected more professionalism and attention to detail. I hope management improves the service.

It’s about a 15-minute walk to central Athens, and the price is lower than many other places, especially for the comfort. The rooms are slightly bigger than most in Athens, where rooms tend to be small. The gym is well equipped for a hotel. The pool could use an update, but it’s fine for cooling off in summer. There isn’t much shade or many shaded loungers, so you have to sit in the restaurant area if you want some.
