The fresh breakfast was a real highlight for me, and we found plenty of food choices, both local and high-end, within about a 10-minute walk. From the hotel we could walk to the Acropolis and the tourist center, including Plaka, in 20-25 minutes. The area right around Anise Aluma Athens isn’t especially picturesque, as others have said, but we felt safe, and the village Square is just around the corner. It’s a convenient location, and we’d gladly return. The hotel had the feel of an SLH, and we had a great stay.

The food selection was limited, and the coffee machines were so slow that there was always a long line. The dining room itself was pleasant, though, and the chef was service-minded. Check-in was a frustrating wait, and the receptionist was unprofessional. I had to argue over my booking because she said breakfast wasn’t included, even though my reservation clearly said it was. She checked the system again and eventually confirmed it. Our room was extremely small. There wasn’t even a bathroom floor mat on the first day, and after the first night housekeeping didn’t clean or replace the towels. We had to go to reception the next day to ask for basic cleaning. The air conditioning didn’t work, and the shower leaked so badly that the bathroom floor flooded every time we used it. There was no exhaust fan, so steam soaked the walls and spread into the bedroom. We had to leave the windows open to air the room, which let mosquitoes in. I got bitten several times and slept very poorly. The hotel is near the center, but the immediate area felt unpleasant and shady, especially early in the morning and late at night. I didn’t feel safe walking around there. More concerning, I received a sophisticated phishing message aimed at my reservation, so it seems my personal data may have leaked. The hotel Wi-Fi is completely open, with no password, which is a serious security risk. I emailed management about both privacy concerns and haven’t heard back. That lack of response is unacceptable. This place may have potential, but it fell well short of the quality and guest service I expect from Hilton. With the maintenance problems, bathroom flooding, and security concerns, I can’t recommend staying here until major improvements are made.

The team made the stay. They were friendly, professional, and clearly focused on looking after guests. Breakfast had a broad choice, from Greek specialties you could sample and go back for to familiar Western staples. Everything was beautifully presented, and the staff explained the dishes with pride and encouraged us to try them. The rooms are clean and modern, with the building’s raw architecture still showing through. The bathrooms are great too, with a powerful rain shower and a handheld one.

Breakfast was very good, and our room was spotless. We were so well looked after from the minute we arrived, the whole team was amazing and clearly goes above and beyond. It was a genuinely comfortable, fantastic stay. The main city sights are about a 7-20 minute walk away.

Getting an upgrade to a balcony room when we arrived and a two-hour-later checkout made an already lovely stay even better. We really enjoyed it and wished we could have stayed longer. The rooftop pool was such a treat in the sunshine, and breakfast was delicious. Staff were attentive throughout. The hotel is tucked into Psyri, a trendy area we loved after a few nights more centrally. Monastiraki is still only about a 10-minute walk away. I’d definitely recommend it.
