Dorian Inn Hotel

The pool is up on the top floor and has a great view of the acropolis, though it’s tiny and gets crowded. There are lots of outdoor spots to sit, chat, or play games. Breakfast was great, and the marble stairs are beautiful, but narrow enough that people can’t easily pass each other going up and down. The location was fine for getting around on foot, and it’s fairly close to the metro. During the day I was comfortable walking around, but at night I didn’t feel good about letting anyone in my group wander there. The room AC wasn’t very strong, and I had to call the front desk a few times to have it worked on.

For the price, it’s a good deal. Our 10th floor room was quiet from the road, which I appreciated, but being opposite the lift doors meant we could hear noisy people coming down the stairs from the bar. The lifts only fit two people with bags and backpacks. We had a great view of the hills, and the Parthenon was easy to see about 3km away. Some parts of the neighborhood were run down, with abandoned buildings, but we found a lovely cafe three blocks down near a park and enjoyed its atmosphere and food.

I moved to another hotel after two nights. The roof terrace and pool were quite nice, and the views were okay, though the closer surroundings weren’t pretty and had to be ignored. Traffic was loud, even at night. I didn’t feel safe walking back after 21h, but taking a taxi or Uber was fine. The staff are what make this hotel.

I had a very bad experience and would be wary of this hotel. Before I arrived, I learned that the hotel had leaked my information, and I still don’t know how much damage that might cause. I wouldn’t recommend booking a room here.
