Elite Ermou Suites

The room had a wonderful Acropolis view, the AC worked fine, and the place had a modern, sleek feel. But the stay wasn’t good, and there are several things that need attention. Finding the hotel by car was a complete disaster. The instructions didn’t mention the odd hall and garage setup you need to go through to reach it. Parking was always going to be difficult in that location, but nearby garage options ahead of time would have helped. Instead, those details were on a sheet inside the hotel, after we’d already had to find parking ourselves. Getting to the room meant going through several doors. That gave some extra security, but it was a hassle. Reception was listed as open when we arrived, but we checked in ourselves, and I never saw a staff member. The room didn’t feel clean. The shower was especially dirty, caked with grime, and had no door, so water spilled outside. There were crumbs and dust on the living room coffee table, the kitchenette counters hadn’t been wiped, and the Nespresso machine’s water reservoir was grimy. I dropped something under the bed and used my flashlight to retrieve it, which showed just how filthy the floor was. It looked as if no one had cleaned under there in a year. It seemed to me like housekeeping may just change the sheets, hopefully, sweep, and call it done. Between the odd check-in and the lack of cleanliness, I was dissatisfied and wouldn’t stay here again.

We booked Elite Ermou through Booking.com and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was for me and my boyfriend. Staying up at night with the Acropolis clearly visible was the best part. Seeing it lit up against the Athens skyline was fascinating and made the stay feel special. Such a perfect romantic place to be with your loved one. 🥰

The apartment was in an extremely dirty state, completely unacceptable for the price. We got very little for what we paid. The quiet, pleasant location was the only good part. We contacted the host about the problems and never got any response. No apology, no solution, nothing. Ignoring guests with legitimate complaints like that is disrespectful and reflects very badly on the service. At a relatively high price, guests should at least get a clean place and proper communication. We got neither. Being left stranded this way is an absolute no-go for us and seriously damages the host’s reputation.

The Acropolis views were as promised, with lots of windows, and the apartment on the 5th floor was nicely remodeled and decorated. It was clean and very spacious, with working TV and ACs. A front desk person answered email quickly and found a way to leave our luggage somewhere somewhat securely. The street was very noisy around the clock, especially with the street drum performer, and the soundproofing wasn’t enough. There was almost never a real person at the front desk, with everything handled by email. We didn’t have enough clothes hangers, or enough coffee and tea bags for a longer stay, since supplies were provided for only one day. There were no instructions or place to take out the trash. The curtains didn’t block enough light or sound. The shower head and holder were broken, so I had to shower with one hand, and a gap in the glass door let water leak across much of the bathroom floor. The building and apartment entrance was a bit complex and scary at first. I wouldn’t call it five stars, maybe three or four.
