Elite Hotel

This is a very basic hotel that could use renovation, and the air conditioning only works on and off. The neighborhood is quite specific, though there are lots of nearby eateries with very reasonable prices. The location is good, and staying here lets you see everyday life and experience Athens away from the tourist hotspots.

It seems to be part hotel, part hostel, with 2 bunks in one room, and it’s a budget place to stay. There are various buses, and the subway is under the nearby square, so getting around isn’t a problem. Based on the reviews, I expected an okay place, and it works well if that’s what you’re after.

We arrived late at night and got a room quickly and cheaply, with a balcony, refrigerator, and wind fan. The lobby looked a bit dodgy, but the staff were kind, there was no hassle, the shower was good, and everything worked. It’s modest, pleasant, and authentic, with no unnecessary luxury. We left our luggage in the lobby for a day of sightseeing without any trouble. An underrated hotel with everything you need.

The AC worked, but water dripped from it and splashed everywhere unless I put a towel right under the drip. The balcony door was broken, and the bedsheets had stains. The bathroom was lower quality than I’d hoped, and the facilities looked a bit run down. For the price, it was okay.
