Garment District Suites

The room at The Garment District Suites was clean and orderly, and I was impressed by the thoughtful, expensive-looking renovation and matching decor. The shower was lovely, with doors and hooks for hanging towels and a ladder for them too. I also liked being able to leave my travel converter in my bag because there were plenty of USB-C and A slots provided. I do have a couple of suggestions: add at least one more electrical socket, perhaps near the sink for doing hair, and provide softer, less dense pillows. Our taxi dropped us at the address on a Saturday, and the area looked deserted. The graffiti made me concerned, and the suite seemed far from the cruise port and the airport. But it turned out to be worth it. We couldn't get into the suite right away, but someone let us in so we could stow our luggage. We went off to explore, as we usually do. The nearby shops were closed, but people were out on the streets, which was a good sign. We came across a busy business area with elite shops and a Starbucks, then stopped for food. On the way back we found a much livelier area, with shopping, restaurants, music, and wide promenades for pedestrians. Holy cow, we hit pay dirt! They answered questions quickly on WhatsApp. One last thanks for handling our last-minute request for a taxi to the airport. It was easy and quick, and Yiannis called to confirm the taxi.
