I loved the figs at breakfast, and the food was plentiful whether I ate in the breakfast room or took it with me. On the two mornings I left early, staff packed me a slightly different breakfast each time. Everyone was kind and helpful, and I’d return in a heartbeat if I’m in Athens again. My double room, which I think was number 105, was spacious and had a fridge, a closet, and extra blankets. I believe it was in the older part of the house, up a spiral staircase. The bathroom was nice and separated from the room by an extra door. The air conditioning worked fabulously, which mattered when it was 90 degrees and I spent the middle of the day resting in the room. The A/C made that quite comfortable. Housekeeping was helpful when I asked for more shampoo, or when I wanted to rest and didn’t need the room cleaned every day. There were brochures in the lobby. You leave your key at the front desk whenever you go out, and I had no problem with that. I think guests were expected back by 10 pm, which also wasn’t an issue for me. If you plan to arrive after 10 pm, I’d contact the hotel before booking to check about late check-in. Everything I wanted to see was walkable, and I absolutely loved Athens.

It’s a family-owned place on a quiet side street, just a 10-minute walk from the Acropolis. The late 19th-century building is charming and has been well preserved inside and out. For the price, it’s a real bargain.

The location is great, and breakfast was decent for a two-star hotel. The building next door is only half finished and seems to have been that way for a while. The hotel itself could use renovation, and there’s no elevator.

The hotel is in a central, safe area close to historical sites and very near Syntagma metro stop. I had no safety concerns. The owner, I think, was kind. The Albanian woman on staff was wonderful and my favorite. A male employee working during the day was respectful, though I have no further comment about him. I could also leave my luggage there until I wanted it. I paid about 100 EUR per night including breakfast and stayed two nights because my other accommodation was full. I checked in around 5 pm on Saturday, and reception was open 24 hours. It’s a very old building, so that’s something to keep in mind. I was in room 302. The bed was comfortable, although its frame was old. The bathroom was extremely small, with a shower curtain instead of a proper shower area or tray. The floor was solid and flat, and there was nothing to dry it with. The towels weren’t enough to keep it dry, so after showering the floor stayed incredibly wet and the bathroom was almost impossible to use. With no outside window, the fan wasn’t enough to dry it out on its own. Breakfast was good and neatly served, with quality products, though it was the same each day. There may have been only one hot item, a boiled egg. I think they could offer a different hot dish each day. It came with fruit juice, tea, and filter coffee, and juice from the machine was unlimited. There was no hair dryer in the room. That didn’t make much sense to me, though perhaps hotels of this level in Greece don’t usually provide one. They didn’t mention an extra tax on the total price, so I think it was included. I wouldn’t really call the place a lobby or common area. There’s a very small seating group in a ramshackle spot under the stairs, and I never saw anyone sitting there. The room doors didn’t close properly. I was travelling alone and didn’t need that, but the rooms aren’t suitable for loud activities. There was often street noise at night, so if you’re sensitive to it, you might have trouble sleeping.

The hosts were nice and welcoming, and breakfast was nice too. Our room was small, looked onto the neighbours’ wall, and had piles of shoe boxes outside it.
