Hotel Lido

There was mold all over, and cockroaches in both the room and bathroom. The WC had no seat or lid, and the shower head couldn’t be hung up. The neighborhood was horrible too. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

My husband and I stayed at hotel lido in Greece for our anniversary, and most things were fine. The room was okay for the price, though I wouldn’t call it perfect. The other staff were nice, but the woman working the night shift made the trip miserable. When a friend came to meet us, we sat near reception and she turned off the AC for no reason and gave us nasty looks, as if we were staying for free. Later, we politely asked for toilet paper for our room and got more bad looks. We’d paid for everything in advance, but she still treated us like we were nothing. Her behavior made us feel unsafe and discriminated against. I hate to judge, but she needs to improve her customer service and learn how to represent the hotel. I know her name but won’t share it. I think she’s the only woman at reception on nights, so the staff will know who I mean. I hope this helps others. Please stay away from that creepy woman. Thanks to her for ruining our trip.

The lobby was the only nice part. Our room looked nothing like the false photos used to show the hotel. It was dirty, had bugs, and the shower was disgusting and smelled of urine. The old, rusty elevators seemed unsafe, and people kept smoking in them, nearly making my grandma pass out. The place is in a trashed alleyway on a bad street. Service was also poor: staff were rude and unhelpful, pushed us aside, and couldn’t answer our questions properly. The whole experience felt unprofessional, and I think they’re scammers.

A decent option if you’re traveling solo and trying to save money, as long as you don’t expect a typical three-star hotel. The main landmark is close, just a 15-minute walk from Monastiraki station, and I didn’t need public transport during my stay.
