Luxurious Loft in Monastiraki

There wasn't even a rooftop, although it was promoted as one of the main features. The restaurant and bar downstairs stayed closed throughout my visit, so none of those advertised services were available. The place felt neglected and didn't match its published description. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The room was fairly clean and generally comfortable, and the city-center location does mean some evening noise, which I can understand. What made the stay difficult was the much louder disruption early every morning. The cleaners talked loudly to each other, banged doors, and dragged chairs around inside and upstairs by the rooms. At times it honestly felt deliberate. I couldn't sleep properly and had to get up early each day. It's a shame, because the place has potential, but I'm sure they'll keep getting similar reviews until the noise from the cleaning staff is dealt with.

The room was clean and comfortable, just right for resting between days out sightseeing. The location of MONK Monastiraki Suites is hard to beat, close to Monastiraki Square, Ermou Street, Plaka, and the major sights. Anna made check-in easy, shared helpful food and activity suggestions, and went out of her way to help. Our main issue was the thin walls. Some very rude neighbors came and went at all hours, talking loudly in the hall and slamming doors, which disturbed us more than we expected. If noise doesn't bother you too much, it's good value for the location and service. We'd stay again.

The staff were wonderful, from the management to the bar and restaurant teams. They helped us arrange airport shuttles in both directions and work around having just one key, which we really appreciated. Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had great showers. The hotel is right in central Monastiraki, with restaurants, bars, and shops around the corner and a good view of the acropolis. Hadrian’s library is about three minutes away, and the acropolis and acropolis museum are around 14 minutes away. I'd absolutely stay here again when I'm back in Athens.
