My Athens Hotel

The hotel's location makes it easy to get around to Athens' sights, and there's a way to avoid the main shortcut into the city that left many people feeling uneasy. The neighborhood isn't great, and I wouldn't choose it for a family, but it felt manageable if you stay alert while traveling. The staff were the real bright spot: friendly, welcoming, smiling, and always checking that we had what we needed. If you're with other people, the area shouldn't put you off. It's a great hotel.

For what we paid, this was a good stay, and we'd come back. We spent two to four days here and had no bad experiences, whether walking with luggage from the airport metro, heading to the metro each day, walking into the city, or coming back. The neighborhood isn't attractive, but it didn't cause us trouble. The hotel and room were what you'd expect at this price. The terrace view was perfect, though the seating could be better and there was no service up there. Rooms were cleaned daily, with soap, shower gel, shampoo, and fresh towels replenished each day. The bathroom was clean and usable, although small, especially the shower. The official photos look nicer than the place does in person, but it was still fine for the price. User photos give a more realistic idea.

The staff were welcoming and very kind, ready to help with whatever I needed. The rooms were clean and tidied every day, with fresh towels as well. The hotel was about what I expected of a three-star place, and it's very close to bus and metro stations. The area isn't good and has mostly Pakistani residents. The building is rather old, and noise carries between rooms.

I booked three nights but ended up cutting my stay to one. The room was too cold because the heater wasn't working, and the place felt uncomfortable and badly in need of updating. Softer beds and a cosier room would help. The location seemed good for sightseeing, and the staff were nice. They also refunded the two nights I didn't stay, so I gave two stars. It seems like the hotel could improve and has some potential.
