Novotel Athenes

We really liked the hotel, especially the cozy garden at the back. When it rains, the cover comes out, and the heating devices turn on when it’s cold, so it has what you need to be comfortable out there. The hotel is about a 20-30 minute walk from Plaka, though the area feels a little sketchy. It seems relatively safe during the day, but I’d recommend taking a taxi at night if you want to be sure you’re safe. The staff were great, especially the bar team and the night security guard. The bar staff were polite, made small talk, and told us about the city. There was a language barrier with the night guard, but he was kind and helped however he could. George also helped us a lot, recommending places to visit and advising whether to walk or take a taxi. I’d definitely return and recommend it to young travelers looking for a good-price hotel with friendly people around. It was a really nice stay with friends.

I had a very pleasant stay at Novotel Athens. Everything was handled professionally, and the atmosphere felt welcoming. Panagiotis deserves a special mention for his upbeat mood and positive energy. He was attentive, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. His kindness and professionalism made a real difference to the experience. Thanks for the warm hospitality!

The parking setup was awful, with a very steep, narrow single-lane entrance, and water from the hotel drainage system covered the whole area. It looked filthy. The hotel itself seems badly neglected, and the location felt like something from a horror movie. This was easily the dirtiest hotel I’ve stayed in. The corridors weren’t even vacuumed, and the supposedly clean towels had hair on them every day. It needs serious maintenance, and the housekeeping management should be replaced as soon as possible.

The staff made a great first visit to Athens much easier. I asked the receptionist where to go during my short stay, and he gave me a really useful guide, including a card with the hotel’s details in case I got lost. Everyone was kind, helpful, and easy to communicate with. Ask the reception team if you need anything, they’re happy to help. The rooms were clean and nice, the hotel felt safe, and the price was affordable. It’s about 34 minutes from ATH. I’d recommend using the hotel taxi too, it was affordable, helpful, and felt safe. I’d recommend Novotel to tourists and first-time visitors to Athens.
