The terrible smell hit us as soon as we opened the building door, and it continued through the stairwell and into the second-floor apartment. The flat was dirty, especially the shower, so we had to leave right away and find somewhere else at our own expense. The owner refunded only the €16 environmental fee and marked the booking as a “no show.” We’re still waiting for the full refund. I strongly suggest booking elsewhere.

The apartment was lovely and in a great location. The soundproofing was poor, though: we could hear people in the next apartment walking up the stairs and talking loudly. Light sleepers should bring earplugs. There was some music or microphone noise on a few nights, but nothing too bad during my midweek stay.

We arrived at 8 pm to find the apartment really dirty, so we sent the host photos. We heard nothing for half an hour and meanwhile contacted Booking, who said they’d reach out to the host and get back to us. An hour later, the host offered a solution: the cleaner would need another hour. We asked to cancel and get a refund, and the host agreed. We did get our money back, but it still wasn’t a great ending to our vacation.

Marios gave us clear instructions for getting in and kindly let us leave our luggage.

It’s just right for a bohemian Athens stay, with hotel comforts and a bit more.
