Raise Boutique Rooms in Center of Athens

The only reason I can give this place one star is the location. The rooms were loud, traffic noise came straight in, and noise from other rooms carried into ours. There was NO HOT WATER. We stayed seven days and never met a staff member at first. After the first night we were out of toilet paper, had no clean towels, and the sheets were damp from the humidity and our sweat. The room felt very humid, and the air conditioning was preset to 23 degrees, so it didn’t clear the dampness or keep the room cool enough. The toilet didn’t work properly, and shower water ended up in the toilet area. When we eventually met staff, the person was angry and didn’t seem willing or able to understand English. We tried before and during the trip to arrange a late checkout, either for an hour or until evening, but neither plan worked as agreed. We ended up being woken by an angry cleaner yelling at us. Her boss couldn’t help over the phone and only asked for 60 euros for one extra hour. Decide for yourself whether this suits you.

Bed bugs on the first night made this a terrible stay. They refunded me, but offered no other help with what is a serious problem. I had to stay in the room until 8 am, then go find another hotel on my own. They tried to blame me, suggesting it could be mosquitoes or that I’d brought the bed bugs with me, even though they don’t exist in my country. The refund was the only support I got. Terrible experience!

We found bed bugs on the pillows and bed, so in the middle of the night we had to find another hotel at the last minute. The host gave us very little help and sent contradictory messages: first they told us to find somewhere else, then, after we had booked, said they had a room available. With so little notice we couldn’t cancel our new booking, which cost us a lot. The street was noisy too, with people eating and drinking outside all night. A very bad experience.

We loved the shower, and the rooms were awesome, modern, and super clean. There’s a small fridge, some plates and cutlery, air conditioning, and a washing machine shared with others. You also get YouTube and Netflix, which was a fun bonus :D
