Royalty Suites Psyrri

Noise is part of staying in lively Athens, so it can be loud around here. Once the parties wound down, though, things got peaceful. We never felt unsafe or out of place despite the graffiti, and there are lots of good restaurants and sights in Psyrri. Psyrri square is about two minutes away on foot, the metro roughly five, and the Parthenon and central Athens around a 15-minute walk. Our room was huge for this neighborhood, with a comfortable bed, reliably hot water, and a balcony looking straight out at the Parthenon. Breakfast had a good range each morning. Service was phenomenal, with everyone professional and courteous. It's a great hotel with amazing customer service, and I'd definitely stay here again if I return to Athens.

The stay was great apart from breakfast, which let it down. There wasn't much variety, and on Sunday and Monday it arrived in a box. The bread was hard; honestly, the banana was the only thing worth eating. Everything else was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and well cared for, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is handy too, about a six-minute walk from the nearest metro at Monastiraki, which goes directly to and from the airport. There are plenty of restaurants within five minutes.

Handy spot near the Acropolis park, with lots of places nearby to eat or grab a drink. Excellent hotel.

Psyrri is right around the corner from the hotel, and it's a lively, colorful neighborhood. The street the hotel sits on isn't particularly nice. Inside, though, the rooms are comfy and well equipped for a fair price. The decor may feel a bit much if you're used to the Cycladic islands' whitewashed minimalism. The place looks brand new, though some parts, including the rooftop, seemed to still be under development. Staff were super friendly, and we liked the generous breakfast buffet.
