Getting to the markets, lots of restaurants, and the metro is easy. The metro is about a 10-minute walk. The rooms were clean, and some have amazing views of the Acropolis, as does the rooftop. But rooftop parties get very noisy, and some roof parties are private and cost extra to attend. The kitchen wasn’t well supplied for cooking or even sitting down to eat. I couldn’t find any silverware. Lockers are a tight fit above the beds, so bring your own lock. The desk service was OK. There’s construction all over the neighborhood and a lot of empty buildings.

The rooms were really nice, and I’d go back for them, but there were some odd things about this place. Nobody cleans the room while you’re staying there. The rooftop bar gets VERY loud with its party crowd, though it does quiet down by midnight. Breakfast wasn’t worth the price: just three set choices, and even the same option changed from one day to the next. I love a Greek breakfast when it’s buffet style. Service felt like it was being handled by disinterested people in their twenties.

Bed bugs in our room are why I’m giving this three stars. Otherwise, it was good for the price. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and our private room was a decent size with a balcony. The balcony looked out onto a construction site, so it was loud, though we didn’t mind too much since it was a hostel. The rooftop balcony was great, with 270-degree views of Athens and a lovely look at the Parthenon. They gave us a delicious welcome drink up there too.

It was quiet, the rooms were clean, and there are blackout curtains. There’s also a movie room to hang out in. We had an affordable private room with its own bathroom, which I’m sure is a different experience from most stays here. Both the room and bathroom were great. The AC worked well, and the shower had strong pressure with hot and cold water. No TV, but there’s plenty to see around town. The neighborhood isn’t the best, though the good parts are only a few blocks away. You have to hold the shower head while using it, if that matters to you. The kitchen stoves barely worked, but I mostly ate out anyway.
