We were three in a family room and had plenty of space. The breakfast buffet was great, too. We could walk to everything, including the Akropolis, about 30 minutes away, though the route was uphill. October weather felt like summer to us.

The Duke Boutique Suites sits in a colorful, lively area that still felt peaceful to me. I believe it's the safest neighborhood in Athens. The staff were extremely friendly and made me feel welcome, and the hotel itself was quiet, clean, and modern inside. I especially liked the little pool on the rooftop terrace, a nice place to have coffee in the morning. Lycabettus Hill is only a few minutes away, with wide city views. Sunsets there are romantic and popular with locals and travelers, while early mornings are peaceful, with hardly anyone around. I'd absolutely stay here again.

The hotel and rooms felt run down, and there was nobody at the front desk when we checked in at 7 PM. It's up a hill, so we had to carry our suitcases there because of a taxi strike. We hadn't been told about the strike ahead of time.

The rooftop bar and pool have the best views, and sushi night was incredible. The amenities were amazing, with the latest technology in the suites. And that shower and jacuzzi were a dream. This hotel is crazy good.
