The Lekka Hotel & Spa

The private spa was a lovely part of our stay at the Lekka Hotel, and the staff were friendly and informative. It’s close to the sights and plenty of good places to eat. We visited in winter, when the rooftop was closed, but we could still go up to enjoy the very nice view. Highly recommend!

We felt safe and liked the location, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel also had free coffee around the clock and delicious festive biscuits at reception. Breakfast was simple and good, but in winter the outdoor seats weren’t appealing in the cold or rain, and indoor seating was limited, so we sometimes had to wait. I can imagine eating on the rooftop would be lovely in summer, with its gorgeous view of Athens. The staff were super helpful, accommodating, and nice during our Christmas stay. We appreciated being moved to another room after we raised concerns about the see-through bathroom doors, which didn’t close properly and felt awkward when sharing a room, especially with the door right in front of the bed.

We booked for seven people after reading reviews praising the buffet breakfast. Five days before our trip, the hotel told us emergency renovations were underway and offered breakfast at the bakery across the street. When we objected, they suggested a sister hotel ten minutes away. Once we arrived, we found the entire hotel under renovation. The elevators didn’t work, and we had internet and power outages. Our room cards kept failing, so we had to go back to reception. It felt like the hotel was still being deliberately marketed during the renovations. The location was the only thing we were satisfied with. Rooms 206, 306, and 506.

We left immediately because the room was unlivable, and they wouldn’t move us to another room or send us to a different partner hotel. We had been assigned an accessible room we hadn’t booked. It smelled bad, was dirty, and clearly hadn’t been prepared for guests. For what we paid, that was beyond disappointing. The manager was rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional when we raised the problem, speaking to us as if we were at fault instead of trying to fix it. They then refused to refund us or give us written confirmation that we had checked out, which caused needless stress. Between the room, the smell, the wrong room type, and the way the complaint was handled, this was one of my worst hotel experiences. I’ll never stay here again and would strongly advise others to avoid it.
