The Marblous Athens

We’d stayed at this hotel before, so this visit was especially disappointing. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived. We were told our bags would be stored safely, but later found them unattended in the middle of the lobby, where anyone could get to them. Even though we’d picked a breakfast time in advance, there weren’t enough seats for our group and we were asked to split up. We also got unclear answers about late checkout and were sent from one staff member to another. On departure day, a front desk employee named Christina was highly unprofessional and disrespectful. She interrupted us, laughed in our faces, and wouldn’t bring in a manager. The service felt disappointing and inconsistent throughout this stay.

The room, breakfast, and cleaning were all great, and the cleaning lady was especially kind. But the man at the front desk at night really spoiled the stay for me. He wasn’t polite or helpful, didn’t give us enough information, and then answered rudely when I asked a basic question about the hotel. I was very disappointed.

We wanted somewhere in Athens that didn’t depend on Acropolis views to justify its price, and The Marblous worked out very well. The room was clean and modern, with a good amount of luxury without feeling showy, and the balcony was spacious. We had breakfast out there every morning, and both the choices and quality were excellent. It’s in a prime location, and the accommodation was comfortable. Everyone on staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay. We’ll be back.

A lovely little boutique feel, with welcoming staff and a really good breakfast. The location is right in the city center, close to everything, but the area still felt quiet and pleasant. Highly recommend.
