Theasis Athens Guest House

We were staying right in the middle of Monastiraki, so there was some music and people singing and chatting outside. We didn’t mind; it gave the area a lively feel, and we still slept well in the comfortable beds. I was there with my 12-year-old son, who wanted to see Athens, and we had a great stay. The location is central, and the hospitality from Joanna and Chris was lovely. The room was small but clean, with a small, nice balcony and a clean bathroom with a great shower. Our room was cleaned and we got fresh towels on the second full day. Check-in was simple, and the shared kitchen is on the third floor, with a nice balcony where you can sit in the sun and enjoy the Acropolis with home-brewed coffee or Greek yogurt with honey. Grain bars and tea were available too. Joanna and Chris were quick to answer questions and help us with information about arranging a day trip. All the rooms are on the 2nd floor, reached by stairs. We enjoyed our stay enormously, thanks again. Highly recommend.

The room was clean and nice, and the bed was comfortable. We stayed about 50-100m from Minasteraki Square, close to the city center, and it wasn’t as noisy at night as we’d expected. The property is down a lane, so there’s a short 30m walk to reach it. Getting in was easy with the pin code they sent us. Just note the stairs up to the first floor are narrow and steep, so you may need help with a heavy suitcase.

The balcony was a lovely place for morning coffee or late night wine while looking at the Acropolis. The rooms and shared spaces were super clean, and Ioanna, the owner, helped us pick places to eat and drink and sort transport to farther spots. We had five days left in Athens and wanted to stay central so we could get around easily. This was simply the best choice for us. I’d recommend it without hesitation. See you next year!

The stairs are steep, so be prepared for a climb if you’ve brought a lot of luggage. I also couldn’t sleep because the outside door in room 4 lets in so much sound, with music going until 2 am. The second floor has beautiful Acropolis views, and the location is great. It would have been a wonderful hotel if the door were fixed and soundproofed. I would have given it 5 stars.
