The bathroom door was the biggest problem. It wouldn’t shut because the door and frame were warped. A caretaker came at the manager’s request, then said after about ten minutes that it was a serious issue that needed proper time to fix. He tried a rushed repair anyway, and the frame was left visibly damaged while the door still didn’t work properly. The manager was reluctant to acknowledge the problem or offer a fair solution. We had to insist and discuss it at length before getting a refund. There were other issues too. Our room smelled strongly of mold even with the windows open, and we found hairs on the pillows. Staff did offer to replace them promptly. Noise came through the poor sound insulation all night, including people shouting outside and a TV in another room. The breakfast coffee place shown in the online photos was closed when we arrived, and its neglected exterior made the photos feel misleading. The neighborhood also felt very unsafe and unpleasant, with garbage in the street and people openly using drugs even in daytime. I know that happens in many cities, including mine, but seeing so much of it was unsettling.

The hotel is pretty nice inside, but its setting let it down. Around it there are lots of dubious-looking places, and people often use drugs and alcohol in public. It didn’t feel safe.

Laura at reception was a big help with a problem I had with the airline, and also pointed me toward places to hear good music. The room was clean and had a nice balcony. It’s a fun hotel. Thanks again, Laura.

Rooms are kept tidy, and the staff are professional. The price feels fair, especially since it’s a very economical option and the metro is roughly a block away. The location may not be the best.

The room was roomy and surprisingly clean, and everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. It was easy to get around Athens on foot, with plenty of places to eat nearby. I liked my stay and would come back when daylight savings gives me more time outside. Just be aware the street didn’t feel safe for someone traveling alone after sunset, so I’d want to be back by dark. The memory foam bed made me sweat, and the shower leaked across the bathroom, so extra towels came in handy.
