The staff were really friendly, and the hotel itself was nice. But the neighborhood felt rough, with drug-related behavior nearby. Our taxi driver said there was a methadone clinic next door, and I’m including a picture of the clinic right beside the hotel. Unless you’re prepared to Uber everywhere, I wouldn’t book here.

The rooms and bathrooms look modern and nice, with the usual amenities for a four-star hotel. The hotel is small, and the surrounding area isn’t great. It felt secure that the entrance stays locked around the clock, though having to ring every time you return can get tiresome. Only the first-floor rooms have balconies. The Wi-Fi should be better, especially with so few guests. The young staff were professional, polite, and willing to help. Breakfast was nice, though better at 7 or 8 than later. There may be a chance to get a free late checkout.

The rooms looked good and were clean, and the parking right beside the hotel was excellent and felt safe. Reception was good too. Breakfast was poor: cheap food, and the coffee was weak and not tasty. What’s supposed to be good about it? Nescafe is better. The area has a bit of a ghetto feel, even though the hotel has bravely opened here. It’s central for Psirri, bars, and taverns, but I think it’ll take another ten years to feel as nice as it did in the 1980s, when real residents and shops filled the neighborhood. Maybe someone could buy that old classic house on the corner and make a beautiful hotel there.

The staff were accused of taking my belongings from my bag while I was out. I caught them in the act, but after I confronted them, they denied responsibility and nothing was put right. The person who checked me out was also supposed to look after my things and the room number was printed on the key. If I’d left belongings behind, I was meant to return to reception to collect my bags and luggage. So stop lying, admit it, and stop refusing to refund us. You’re a thief. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or the area. The bed was uncomfortable, the sound insulation was poor, and street noise, especially people fighting, came right through. Breakfast was very average, and the hotel is in a bad area.

The hotel has friendly, helpful staff and clean, roomy rooms with large balconies. There’s a free breakfast, Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, and plenty of charging outlets. It’s outside the busiest tourist area, with lots of little shops and places to eat nearby. One side road is best avoided, but I found the rest of the neighborhood very safe. A note for other visitors from abroad: you can’t flush toilet paper here. Still, that shouldn’t put you off the hotel’s charm.
