We arrived at 18:00 with our 5-month-old baby and 3-year-old boy, but the apartment still hadn’t been cleaned, even though check-in starts at 15:00. Our host replied quickly when we contacted her and said the cleaning crew would come, but we had to wait outside with our luggage. After a long journey, we couldn’t shower or put the baby down to sleep, and ended up walking around while the place was being cleaned. We messaged through WhatsApp and were told it should be ready around 20:00, but the crew was still there then. The host didn’t message to say it was ready. We checked again at 21:00 and could finally get in. The next day, the host sent a message asking if everything was okay. That was all the communication, followed by a reminder that checkout was before 11:00. We weren’t planning to stay later, but after losing those hours and dealing with all that stress for the kids, we weren’t offered any compensation. We don’t recommend the place and won’t return.

The location is fantastic, with city buses stopping right outside the apartment or around the corner, depending on where you’re headed. The Acropolis is a straight 15-minute walk down the street, and Filopapou is next door for a nice stroll. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the place was well prepared for us. Ofeliya, the property manager, was easy to reach and communicated well in both Greek and English.

The break-in at Trojan Affair residence happened on 18.6.2024 while we were visiting the Acropolis. We came back to find the Airbnb we thought of as home had been ransacked, with valuables, IDs, cash, gadgets and other things gone. It caused a lot of distress and wrecked our holiday. We filed a police report and contacted the Agent from Greek vacation. They seemed more focused on changing the locks than on what had happened to us. Nothing belonging to the homeowner was taken, which made it feel as if the thief knew what to leave alone and targeted our belongings. I still don’t understand how this could happen, especially through booking.com. Greek vacation handled it poorly, and one staff member was rude and showed no empathy. Please avoid this place unless you want to risk being robbed and losing valuables in a foreign country. Not recommended. I’m a fearful traveller.
