Urban Frame Plaka

The whole stay felt chaotic and deeply stressful, with no proper service, care, or responsibility shown to us. Even three months later, I still feel upset about how badly we were treated. Honestly, I wonder whether this is a real hotel or just a badly managed Airbnb disguised as one. We arrived with our seven-month-old baby in scorching heat after clearly requesting and confirming a cot at the time of booking. Instead, they gave us a triple room and said a single adult bed would be “fine” for the baby. That was unsafe and completely unacceptable. When we asked about the reserved cot, the receptionist was sarcastic, arrogant, and cold, with no empathy for us standing there with a baby in unbearable heat. She was also rude to my elderly in-laws, which was humiliating and upsetting. Eventually they “found” a cot in storage, but by then we’d booked another hotel out of desperation. They still refused to refund us. My partner had explicitly confirmed a taxi from the harbour with the hotel, but it was never arranged. We had to organize one ourselves in the hottest part of the day, carrying our baby and luggage. If you’re traveling with children, or value professionalism and basic human decency, stay far away. I still doubt this is a real hotel.

The Plaka location was fantastic and quiet, and we walked everywhere from the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the staff helpful, and the continental breakfast had excellent options. A really nice hotel.

We were just steps from a coffee shop, a bar, and some great Greek food in Plaka. It was an easy walk through the heart of the area to reach the Acropolis. The room came with robes, slippers, and plenty of espresso, and we enjoyed breakfast each morning. We’d definitely stay here again on a return to Athens.

The room we were moved to was just as dusty and dirty as the first, and I couldn't bring myself to haul our luggage to the sister hotel near the Acropolis the next day in case it was more of the same. My husband and I had come for our honeymoon, but the room we checked into was filthy: dust everywhere, dead bugs on the nightstand and three flying around, hair on the pillow and floor, green slimy stuff coming from the shower floor that I hope was soap, stained curtains, scuffs, and even the paid-for view was blocked. We raised it with reception. They could offer one night in another room, then cleaning the next day because no housekeeper was on site, followed by moving us back into the original room since they were full. They also refused even a 50% refund. We ended up checking out and losing the cost of all three nights. Such a letdown for our honeymoon. It really felt like a scam.
