The rooms were clean and warm, and the renovations looked modern. That’s where the positives stop. Children ran and screamed in the hallway every morning for three days. When we asked their parents to keep it down, they swore at us. Reception did nothing when we complained. The elderly man there seemed incompetent and indifferent. Breakfast had no vegetables or fresh food, just fried bread, jams, and cheap sausages. The coffee was disgusting, so you’re better off getting food at a nearby cafe. Most upsetting, we believe hotel staff stole our Istanbul public transport annual pass. We left food in the refrigerator and put our travel card in the electrical panel so the power would stay on. When we came back, the card was gone. We’d also asked the service not to clean our room, but it had been disturbed: things were scattered around, the lights were out, and the refrigerator had stopped working, so our food spoiled. Receptionists just shrugged. A terrible hotel experience in Athens that ruined our trip. I don’t recommend it.

The reception guy was friendly, but the room wasn’t like the photos. The bathroom was old and gross, with an old shower curtain. The toilet is so close to the wall that if you’re 6 ft tall, you have to sit at an angle. The area felt sketchy and isn’t great, far from anything interesting. I’d stay away from this hotel.

We booked 3 deluxe rooms and expected more. The balcony may be the only thing that counts as deluxe, because nothing else did. We had rainy days, and the room got cold overnight. They gave us the air-conditioning remote, which also has a heating option, only after we spoke with booking and said we’d leave earlier than planned. Overall, this place isn’t worth staying at. Stay away.

The hotel itself was good, and breakfast was okay. But we’d already paid 30 pounds in tax, then they charged us another 30 euros when we arrived. They wouldn’t let us in until we paid. I called the agent, who said we shouldn’t have to pay extra. It felt like a scam.

The location was handy, with the train and bus stations easy to reach. The room was less comfortable: the beds weren’t great, especially for couples, and the bathroom felt cramped. Breakfast hardly changed from day to day, and we didn’t care for the coffee. We stayed four nights while visiting Athens. It was an okay stay, though comfort and breakfast could be better.
