The beach is very close and was one of the best I've seen on this trip, clean and with clear water. The breakfast staff were great, and the rest of the team were fine. Still, I thought the stay was just okay, not as good as other reviews suggest. There wasn't anything badly wrong, but lots of little things felt annoying or impractical. For the price and star rating, I'd have expected more. It would be fine if presented as a three-star hotel, and the location is a good reason to choose it. Our room was level with the pool and breakfast area, and the door wasn't soundproof, so it was very noisy and I couldn't sleep in. The key also controls the AC, and we only got one. One person couldn't go to breakfast while the other slept without cutting off their AC or waking them to open the door. This was the only hotel on our trip with that problem.

We enjoyed eating by the pool as the sun came up, with the warmth making breakfast even nicer. At Bali Diamond Hotel, the buffet is served at the pool bar beside the larger of the two pools. The smaller pool sits right below our room balcony. There were three long tables: one for salads, fruit and bread, another with pastries and hot dishes including tomatoes and eggs, and a third for juice, coffee and cereals. We stopped for dinner on the way to the airport. The tuna salad was a bit bland, though the fresh-squeezed orange juice was delicious. The waiter wasn't friendly, but the spot near the beach was lovely.

We've stayed here three times and will be back. It's a lovely place, right beside the beach, with a nice pool as well. The rooms are practical rather than luxurious, but we had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
