Belvedere Andros

Anna made our arrival easy and had everything ready for us. Moza was lovely throughout our stay, always smiling, keeping the place spotless, and welcoming us warmly. We even got delicious homemade cakes on a few days. Sera the cat was a bonus too. We spent 11 wonderful days in the Aelia flat at Belvedere Suites in Batsi Village. It has two bedrooms and looks out over Batsi Beach. The main bedroom has the balcony, the view, and an en-suite bathroom. The balcony also opens from the living room, beside the open kitchen and dining table. We hardly used the second bedroom, but appreciated having the second bathroom, which was huge and had a double sink. The kitchen worked well for us. The stovetop and cooking supplies meant we made lunch and dinner most days, and the full-size fridge was great since we love food. There was hot water every day, and because we stayed so long, we could arrange laundry. Being higher up the mountain means quiet and lovely views, though getting around takes a bit of planning. There are a few steps into Aelia, but the flat itself could work for wheelchair users since the showers have no step. We usually took the shortcut down the hill. It's steep and partly gravel and grass, then joins the big staircase by Cavo d’Oro leading down to the beach. That was about seven minutes down and ten back up, with breaks for us. There's also a more gradual route along the roads if you prefer to skip the stairs. Batsi is a lovely town. Almi Tavern is only a few minutes away on foot, and we had some of our best meals there. The AB supermarket is a short drive away. I'd suggest renting a car to see more of the island, provided you're comfortable with winding cliffside roads. We were there in early November, so most shops and restaurants in town were closed. We actually enjoyed the quiet, though I can't say what it is like when it's busy. We loved our time in Batsi and at Belvedere Suites. Thanks, Anna and Moza, and Sera the cat!
