Rising Sun Apartments and Studios

Our previous hotel let us down and made us cancel, so we were scrambling a bit when we booked this place. I found it on Google, and the owner replied to every question almost straight away with helpful, friendly information. After a long flight, the easy late check-in was a relief. The room was spotless and everything worked when we arrived. During the stay, the housekeeper kept it clean and brought fresh sheets and towels every two days. The windows had mosquito nets, which kept us from getting bitten. The bus stop is right at the bottom of the hill. Walking there in the heat or in the dark can be tough, but that's hardly an issue and isn't the owner's fault. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We booked at the last minute, hoping for somewhere comfortable to sleep while we explored the island, and the apartment turned out better than expected. I'd seen a few negative reviews, but we didn't run into those problems. Check-in was easy, even though we arrived very late. The room was clean throughout the week. The beds were made daily, and towels were replaced when we left them out. The mosquito nets kept the insects out, though keeping them out is your responsibility since the apartments are surrounded by nature. Our bathroom was small but clean and modern, and we got used to it quickly. The balcony was lovely for reading, having a beer and looking at the sea. The kitchen was well equipped, though we ended up eating out because the gyros in Benitses were so tasty and affordable. The air conditioning worked very well. With the doors shut, it cooled the room in about ten minutes, so we didn't need to leave it on all night, and there's a sea breeze outside. We had no shower problems, with good, strong water, whether we showered in the morning or evening. The pool area was very clean and peaceful. The location was great. In my opinion, Benitses is the prettiest village and the best part of the island. We saw the whole island, and every area was within an hour's drive. You'll want a car to explore Corfu's sights. There are small markets and shops a short drive away, but for a bigger grocery shop you need to go to the large supermarkets near Corfu town. Restaurants nearby were great. Try those outside the town centre, especially Arokaria, our favourite. There's a bus at the bottom of the street and taxis in the village. Parking in Benitses was easy if we went to dinner early and parked a bit farther away. Nearby beaches were lovely too. We spent a lot of time near the Marbella hotel, where the water was great and the beaches peaceful. The cleaning staff were friendly, and messages about check-in and local recommendations were polite and professional. I've stayed in plenty of typical Greek apartments, but this one stood out for its view and cleanliness. I'd recommend it to anyone coming to Corfu to explore. Thank you, rising sun!

The place is well located and has a private pool. The apartment is cozy and has the basics. The cleaning service wasn't very flexible: if you're not ready when they arrive, they won't come back later. For a family planning to spend a lot of time in the apartment, I'd suggest booking a bigger one.
