Casa Alta Mare Villa

We spent a week at Casa Alta Mare at the start of May, and the beach was only a two minute walk away. The villa, pool and grounds were beautifully finished and well kept, and the host checked in to make sure we had what we needed. Communication had been great since we booked, and we were allowed an early check-in. There was also a generous welcome pack waiting for us with milk, eggs, bread, cereal, snacks, gin and wine.

The grounds are spacious, lovely and secure, so children can wander around safely, away from the pool. The pool itself is fantastic, with fresh water that doesn’t sting your eyes. It’s a quiet, peaceful place and close to a very safe beach for little ones. Inside, the villa has everything we needed and more. The cleaning was to a very high standard, and the coco-mat beds were wonderfully comfortable. There are lots of outdoor spaces, too. Christina was a wonderful host who even did some shopping for us, and she responds quickly whenever you need her. I’d recommend it for all ages.

From the moment you arrive, Casa alta Mare feels genuinely caring and welcoming. The beach is just a stone’s throw away, so you can make the most of summer with no fuss. The villa is fully equipped to a high standard, and the hosts have thought of everything to make a holiday easy. There’s plenty of room in the large grounds for activities and for kids to run around safely. The pool water is gentle on the skin and doesn’t irritate your eyes. It’s an ideal place for a relaxed, blissful stay.

We came for peace and quiet, and the soundscape was just cicadas and waves from the beach. The sandy beach with clear water really is 50-100 metres away. We walked along the shore, including a small rocky stretch, to Avra Oceanus for most of our meals. It was just the taverna experience we wanted. Christina was the person we appreciated most. She answered our questions right away before and during the trip, which was a huge help on our first family holiday abroad, especially with an anxious child. On our first night, Dionnisis & Christina cooked us a feast of local dishes in the professional kitchen in the garden. Alexandros gave us massages while telling us about the island’s mythology and answering our questions about Greek mythology. The beds were among the most comfortable we’ve slept in, and the place was spotless on arrival and after both midweek cleans. The WiFi was strong and reliable, and there was Netflix. Equipment throughout was impressive, new, complete and working perfectly. The welcome pack was generous enough to cover food and drink, including wine and gin, for a couple of days, and the villa also had umbrellas, waterproofs, a safe, sliders and a first aid kit. The accommodation was even better than it looked online, with no unpleasant surprises and plenty of unexpected extras. The team clearly wants families to relax and make lasting memories. It’s hard to fit all our praise into a review!
