Ambassadors Residence Boutique Hotel Chania

A lovely little boutique hotel, with attractive, comfortable rooms and welcoming staff who are glad to help. There aren't other amenities on site beyond the rooms, which seems understandable for a hotel this small. A heads-up about parking: third-party booking sites often claim it's available, but the hotel has none, and finding a space in Chania can be really difficult. I'd suggest skipping a rental car and using the hotel's taxi service.

The team was great and very helpful, but a few things affected my rating. Room choice matters: some are roomy with a sea view, while others feel small or dark. At night, switching on the bathroom light can brighten the whole room. You'll also have to wheel your suitcases over cobblestones to the city gate. The hotel has no extra facilities such as food, a bar, a pool, or a rooftop terrace.

The Mosaic Suite was gorgeous, with a roomy shower and a very comfortable queen-plus bed. We stayed in History, where the original stonework was preserved during the rebuild. Double glazing kept the nightlife noise out. Breakfast downstairs was a full spread, from yogurt, fruit and pastries to eggs and salmon. The staff were caring and friendly, and had lots of useful local tips. I'd definitely stay again.

You’re right over the water in the old town harbour, about as close as you can get without arriving by boat. Terrace suites have sunbeds; the lower suites have balconies with space for two chairs to watch the harbour. The rooms have high ceilings, around 5-6 meters, which gives them a romantic, modern feel. Good doors and windows block much of the restaurant noise when you want some quiet. Expect plenty of stairs, limited car access, and street parking, so there’s a lot of walking around Chania old town and ambassador. Breakfast is served in the street-facing restaurant. The staff are very friendly, the coffee is great, and I recommend starting the day with their Crete omelette.
