Bozzali

Vasilis at reception was incredibly helpful, and Rula was friendly and outgoing. Anna, who looked after our room, was efficient, thorough, and pleasant. Everyone made the stay better. The room was cute, the bed comfortable, and it was quiet enough for an easy night's sleep. Bozzali is right by the Venetian walls and only a short walk from the harbor, with lots of shops and restaurants to explore. We'd stay again.

The location was the one bright spot, but our stay in the standard double room at Bozzali Deluxe was a huge letdown. The room felt cramped and dark, and the bathroom was so tiny that two people couldn't be in it together. There was a little balcony, but no view. The website photos gave a misleading impression, and I wouldn't put much stock in the hotel's four-star rating. Customer service was extremely poor too: when we asked about an alternative after the shower drain stopped working, the owner hung up on us. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We loved our two nights here in August 2023. We hadn't learned much about the place before booking online, so finding it right in Chania's Old Town was a lovely surprise. It's central to everything there, yet on a quiet street. The room was small, clean, and comfortable, with everything close by. Matilda, the manager, really made the stay. She was amazing, shared ideas for places to visit, and was happy to help with anything. Thanks, Matilda.

I still think about Chania eight months later. What I remember most is wandering the Old Town lanes, passing the busy restaurant tables, waving to the Melodica staff, and saying hello to Luisa the bar dog. Ending the day back in my room at Bozzali felt like having my own little oasis. Bozzali is a small, charming, genuinely authentic hotel right in the middle of the Old Town. My room was clean, with modern furnishings, and the staff were really helpful while still giving me space. They checked in now and then to see if I needed anything, and even put up a poster with suggestions for things guests might want to do. If you're after a yoga studio, a 24-hour gym, or room service, this isn't the place for you. Maybe Chania isn't either. But for a clean room in the heart of everything, Bozzali was perfect for me. When I flew home from ATH, I had tears in my eyes because I didn't want to leave Greece. The agent noticed and said, "You fell in love, didn't you? You fell in love with Greece!" I absolutely did. And when I picture Greece, it's the alleys of Chania's Old Town that come to mind, not Athens. I can't wait to return.
