The location is right in the old town, with plenty of restaurants and gift shops close by. There’s an elevator, and the room itself was clean and a good size. Towels were replaced on day three. It also had a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee facilities, and a fridge. The rooftop had a few chairs and a table, though we couldn’t work out the air-conditioning controls. We didn’t use the small safe because it wasn’t secured in place. Getting there was awkward: the apartment is on a narrow street that cars can’t reach, so our taxi left us quite far away and we had to drag our bags around while looking for it. The owner was responsive and helpful when we asked for directions. The shower was a walk-in with a waterfall head and hot water, but the seals around the enclosure were black and slimy with mold. The bathroom has an opaque glass swing door, with the toilet and shower behind it. In this old town, the sewer system can’t cope well with the tourist numbers, so toilet paper must not be flushed. We also found a cupboard hinge broken beside the bed, so we avoided storing anything there in case we made it worse, and told the owner. The hairdryer cord had melted in places with bare wires showing. After we reported it, it was replaced the next day.
We loved staying here and would absolutely book it again on our next trip to Crete. The bed and sofa were so comfortable, and the rooms felt spacious, modern, clean, and luxurious. Communication was quick and easy, and the hospitality and service were all top notch. ✨💜 Thank you! ☺️
The rooms were modern and very clean, and the location was great. A few little things could be improved. There were no beach towels, and the sink and mirror area was tiny with no counter space, even though there seemed to be room for a small toiletries shelf. We arrived to a locked front door because nobody had sent check-in instructions. We had to contact the hotel on WhatsApp to get the lockbox code, and it would have helped to receive that beforehand. Also, taking the room key out of the wall shuts off all the room’s power, so we couldn’t charge cameras or power banks while we were out.
Irene gave us great suggestions for places to eat and have drinks, and the rooms were very clean and tidy. Casa Dorini is perfectly placed for visiting Chania, and we enjoyed our stay and would come back. It would help to have the property name on the doors. We arrived late, after check-in hours, had to ask the restaurant next door how to find it, then used Wi-Fi to call for check-in after 11 pm.
We had a lovely stay and slept exceptionally well. The king-size beds were comfortable, and the well-fitted windows and shutters kept things peaceful. The rooms are large and airy, with lovely decor and modern bathrooms, and the recent renovation is clearly a credit to the owners. Wi-Fi and air-conditioning worked without a hitch, and the owners were ready to help with fresh linen or anything else we needed. After hours of walking around beautiful Chania, the elevator was much appreciated. There’s also a Nespresso machine in the room. My one small gripe is that there are no USB charging points. Casa Dorini sits on a quiet side street in the center, just a two-minute walk from the main Venetian port area. Fantastic location and accommodation quality.
