The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the location in Old Chania is great. But it didn't really operate like a hotel. Our room was too noisy, the pillows were awful, and there was fungus in the shower. They also ran out of towels for a couple of hours, so we took our room towels to the beach and had none left to shower with afterward.

The location is right in the heart of chania, and the place was very clean. The staff were caring, helpful, and polite, and gave us a great introduction to the hotel, its facilities, and our room. Breakfast was delicious too. I've stayed in lots of hotels, but the staff and cleanliness here make this one of the best I've come across.

I wanted to share some feedback about the cleaning. I left my €60 shampoo in the bathroom and planned to use it, but found that the bottle had been emptied and filled with water. That's really unprofessional. There were other problems too: when I was called to reception during breakfast, they took my plate. It was my first time having breakfast there, and I'd only had some watermelon and a coffee. At 7am, I went out for a smoke and two staff members stood in front of me, spoke rudely, and said I didn't have accommodation there. The mattress also has Aspergillus fungus, as shown in the image below.

We stayed in September 2013 and found it beautiful and relaxing. Marianna, the manager, puts a lot of effort into keeping this sweet hotel clean, cosy, and memorable. She cares about the place and always has good suggestions for where to see, go, and eat. Chania also makes a good base for exploring the island. The six rooms are all unique, the breakfast is delicious, and the hotel is quiet but central in the heart of the old chania. It's not as expensive as you might expect, and we'd definitely go back. The only snag is that there's no parking right outside, so you'll need to walk a few minutes.
