Epavli Grace Hotel

For our four nights in Chania, this was just right. It’s not far from the Old Port, but far enough out that you can get away from some of the nighttime bustle. The staff were attentive, and the daily room cleaning was immaculate. I’ve rarely seen hotel bathrooms as clean as these. Breakfast had lots of variety and was delicious, one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was amazing. I’d happily stay here again.

The immediate area isn’t particularly pretty, and with a toddler I’d probably pick somewhere closer to the center next time. That’s our choice, though. The hotel itself was nice, with friendly staff and a nice room. Breakfast was especially good, with lots that seemed homemade: Cretan tarts, fresh fruit, egg dishes, fresh orange juice, and more.

The staff were the highlight for me. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. The reception cats were a lovely extra if you like animals. Breakfast had loads of choices too. It’s a fabulous town hotel, just a few minutes’ walk from the old town center. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the modern rooms had what you need. One tip: the ceiling fan light has its own remote. I only found that out after a frustrating night of trying the wall switches after going out! Thanks to everyone for looking after us so well.

We found this compact hotel great value, with friendly, very attentive staff and modern, clean, spacious rooms. Shops, bars, and restaurants are close by, and the harbour is only about a 10-minute walk. Breakfast runs from 8-11, which worked well for our group. Highly recommended.
