Fivos Pension

Room 5 has a nice terrace, and the small house is right in the centre of the old town. It’s clean, not expensive, and has good facilities. If you have mobility issues, this probably isn’t the place for you, because the spiral staircase is steep and the landings are narrow.

For a few days, the small room is very convenient, and its balcony is a nice spot for coffee or wine while looking out over the old town. One useful tip if you’re bringing luggage: approach the hotel from the west side by the port fortress, where the street is flat.

I spent seven days here and found everything great. The place looked just like the photos, was cleaned daily, and had fresh towels each day. The pension is in the old town, close to everything, and the hosts were really nice and helpful with anything we needed.

Fivos felt safe and comfortable for me as a solo woman on my first trip alone in Greece. Julia was welcoming and helped me figure out transport to the beaches. I was surprised by how busy the area was, with restaurants and shops all around to explore. The balcony is fantastic, with a partial sea view, and you can see the moon at night. The street is one of the busiest, so it was noisy, but earplugs made sleeping possible. They cleaned the room and collected the rubbish every day. For a short trip, the room has lots of handy things: toiletries, a hairdryer, an iron, a coffee machine, kettle, fridge, air con, and plenty of sockets for charging devices. Beach towels are available for an extra charge, which was a lifesaver when I was travelling with a backpack.
