Maro Rooms

We were in town with friends and looking for a hotel, and came across maro rooms. The owner was sitting outside at a table drinking raki. He started insulting our friends and threatening us. We didn't want trouble, and felt he seemed to have a good relationship with the police and behaved like this often, so we left. I recommend everyone stay away. As a Greek, I felt ashamed, and it made me sad to see something like this happen in such a beautiful place.

We only needed a room for one night and found Maro rooms on Google. At the entrance, a man was sitting in a chair drinking Raki, probably drunk. He asked, “What do you want?” We said hello and asked if they had a room for one night. He said yes, so we went in for a quick look. It was very, very dirty. I don't think the sheets had been changed, the toilet was dirty, and the air inside stank. We didn't want to stay, even if it had been free. We understand the place is old, but it should at least be clean. As we left, the man yelled and screamed at us and almost got into a fight with us. This was my first bad experience in Chania, and my last. I'd advise people to avoid the place. The owner should also be kind to potential guests.

The location was amazing, and the host was really friendly.

The rooms were cozy and cleaned every day, and the location was very, very good. The host couldn't have been nicer.
