Odos Oneiron Boutique Hotel

The owner and all the staff were really friendly and helpful, and I hope to come back. I spent six nights here in early September 2025. The room was very spacious and had a big terrace, right in the heart of Chania Old City.

Aside from the location, I can’t recommend this place. We were there for three nights in November, and our room had a very musty smell, like it hadn’t been occupied in quite a while. The living room was cold and sparsely furnished, with very upright furniture that felt as if it had a thin layer of sand on it. Since you have to put toilet paper in the garbage rather than flush it, we were surprised to be asked if we wanted the room cleaned. We said yes, but when we got back, they’d emptied the garbage and hadn’t even made the beds. For all three days, that was the only cleaning they did. I think we were the only guests in the hotel. The owners spent all day in the lobby area but didn’t seem to be doing anything.

We wanted to be in the middle of Chania city life, and this was just what we were looking for. Restaurants, bars, shopping, and all the action were right outside the front doors. Our family of four, with daughters aged 15 and 17, loved it. The room felt more like a large condo than a standard hotel room, with a full kitchen and three air conditioners that kept us comfortable. The staff made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond. We arrived four hours before check-in, and they served us breakfast while they cleaned the room. I think they gave us extra food, too. Before we decided to book, they even let us see the room. They lent us their own beach towels for a nearby beach, and at checkout gave us complimentary dessert while we had lunch there because the food was excellent. The nightlife carries on into the evening, but that suited us. Two doors down, there’s a laundry with washers and dryers for just dollars and cents, which we used. This was one of our best nights on the trip, mainly because the city life was fun and the staff treated us so warmly!

The restaurant was great value, with very good service and a generous, tasty meal. They had a good beer selection too, including Guinness. We found this gem late in our holiday, otherwise we’d have eaten there again.
