Talos Luxury Suites

We spent three days here with our three children during our Crete family holiday. We mainly wanted a base near Chania, and the location was okay, especially for getting to the airport. We chose the Airbnb because of the reviews and don’t regret staying, though a few things weren’t what we expected. The building is new and beautiful, with a nice pool and lounge area. Like most pools in Greece, it isn’t heated. We stayed in five places over our two-week trip and none had a heated pool, so it seems common, but the water is freezing until the sun warms it. There’s a small private outdoor space, which I’d been looking forward to, but we mostly used it to dry laundry. There are security cameras all around the property. I understand the safety reason, though it felt excessive. The main disappointment was the sea view. It was a big reason we booked, but our two-bedroom apartment, the largest unit, had no sea view from inside. The owner said you could see it only by going outside to a particular shared area. I’d hoped to have morning coffee with the view, rather than get dressed and go out into a public area. From what I understand, the owners live on the third floor, which has the best view, while guests are on the first and second floors. The owners have a separate private entrance. You’ll need a car. Walking isn’t advisable because the road outside is busy and cars go very fast. There are grocery stores nearby and food delivery is available, but you shouldn’t count on walking anywhere. It’s a stylish, modern place and we had a decent stay, but I wish the listing had been clearer about the view and these limitations.

These clean, furnished suites are brand new and a few kilometers from Chania, in a less touristy area. The cleaning service did a very good job of keeping everything tidy. There’s a small inner terrace, handy for drying things or having breakfast in the shade, plus a nice pool with sunbeds and umbrellas.

August 2025 update: We picked Talos Luxury Suites for a second year in a row, this time for our honeymoon. Everything was just as we remembered, and that’s exactly what we wanted. Another perfect stay! Our room was beyond perfect, and having a clothes washer was amazing. The pool was fantastic, with very comfortable pool beds. The whole place is modern, clean and comfortable. On our two-week trip through Greece, this was our best hotel experience. It’s a quiet place, just a 15-minute drive from Chania Old Town. The nearby village, Kounoupidiana, has everything you need, including a large grocery store, cafes and great restaurants. We can’t wait to come back next year for our honeymoon!

After 16 days at Talos Luxury Suites, we’ve just got home to Dublin, Ireland, having enjoyed every moment of our Crete holiday. Mariana and Stavros are a fantastic couple who couldn’t do enough for us. We booked through their website, and Mariana took the time to talk on the phone and answer our questions. Stavros welcomed us and showed us to our lovely room. The apartments are beautiful and extremely clean, the facilities are excellent, and the views are breathtaking. We chatted with Mariana and Stavros during our stay and could text them if we needed help. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. The building, rooms, setting, fabulous pool and sunbathing area are all brilliant. If you’re looking for luxury, Talos Luxury Suites is definitely worth a visit. Thank you, Mariana and Stavros.
