Irene Beach

We had a really relaxing holiday in this small apartment hotel. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were nice. The bathroom was a bit cramped, which made using the shower and toilet awkward. There’s also a car rental at the hotel, which we wish we’d found out about sooner. Thanks so much!

We ended up having a very happy week at Irene apartments. After arriving at another hotel nearby and finding it shockingly below standard compared with the tui pictures, we found Irene, just a short walk from the Home Hotel, and booked the last room. It’s right on the beachfront, with lovely staff, fresh, clean rooms, and a huge balcony. Waking up to the sound of the sea was lovely. There’s a small kitchen area. A microwave and toaster would have made it perfect, but we managed porridge and a fry-up on the single stove. We’d definitely recommend Irene.

The hosts were caring and friendly, and the location was really convenient. I was travelling on my own, and they helped with car rental and ideas for places to visit, and checked that I was doing okay during my stay. I’ve just returned from a holiday at this beautiful, family-run accommodation and would highly recommend it for a visit to Crete.

The room was cleaned and the sheets changed every two days, and the staff were very polite. The location is good, close to the beach. The bathroom was small, with a shower you could barely fit into, and I’m not a big man. The free Wi-Fi only worked if you could get a signal, which was mostly around reception. Good enough for a two-star rating.
