The central location makes it easy to walk almost anywhere, but the rooms are very small and the furniture is quite old. The room really needs to be updated. The bathroom is cramped, and its curtain raised hygiene concerns for me. There's no lobby. Staff sometimes lock up reception and leave, so finding someone to let you into your room can feel like luck. If you have other places to consider, I'd look at them. It's hard to recommend Ionia Rooms Hotel.

The main drawback is the stairs, which could be difficult for older guests. Otherwise, this is a clean, characterful old building right in the middle of town, with nice rooms that are sufficient for a night's stay. There are breakfast places very close by, and the staff and management were friendly and helpful. Many thanks to Michalis and dear Markela.

Ionian Rooms is centrally located, and that's its one real strength. The building feels old and worn, the stairs are dangerous, and the floors shake. The bath fittings are rusty, the bathroom door won't close, and the bed is noisy. For that price, it isn't worth it.

Michalis was really friendly and helpful, and even let us check in early so we could leave our bags. I chose Ionia Rooms for its good reviews, location, and reasonable price, and we loved our stay on beautiful Chios. I'd highly recommend it if you're visiting Chios.
