Christina was a wonderfully warm and dedicated host, and we had such an enjoyable stay at Silver Rocks. We went snorkeling around the nearly private beach close to Silver Rocks and Golden Beach. The hotel is quiet, as are the lovely beaches nearby, and there are a few great places to eat and drink. The swimming pool and views are beautiful. A car is best for getting there and exploring the area.

The pool was huge, and most of the time I had it to myself. Golden Beach is magnificent and only 200 meters away. There’s also a bus stop five minutes from the hotel, with connections to the main tourist spots if you don’t have a car. Breakfast is served at Captains Hotel, 100 metres away.

We arrived for our holiday to find an abandoned hotel, and even the taxi driver was surprised. LASTMINUTE.COM hadn't told us about the closure, leaving us to wonder if this was a fraud. The swimming pool was empty, the shutters were closed, the mattresses were tidy, the tables were in a mess, and rubbish and vegetation were everywhere. Future guests should go to CAPTAIN'S ROCKS HOTEL, which replaces SILVER ROCKS HOTEL. We should have been told about the change in advance so we could have avoided the worry.

Christina is especially kind and welcoming, and she’ll help you however she can. The hotel sits in a beautiful spot with sea views from every angle, though the building is really old and needs maintenance. It’s a good place if you’re after a laid-back holiday.

The pool was nice, but that was about the only positive. Facilities were very outdated, there was no shower curtain or cups, and neither the fridge nor air conditioning worked. Staff were rude, and management were busy trying to run two hotels, so they weren’t around. What a disappointment.
