The man at check-in said we’d been given a “free upgrade” and moved us to a different hotel out front. That room was worse than the one we’d booked at Nufaro, which we’d chosen after seeing the photos. We told him we wanted our original room, but he kept insisting his option was better. When we asked to see the booked room, he opened the door to find it occupied, with other people’s belongings inside. He hadn’t told us he’d given it away and had moved us somewhere we’d never heard of. When we complained, he accused us of “making problems.” We left and booked another hotel that gave us the room we’d reserved.

We left and found another hotel that honored our reservation. At check-in, an older man called a move to a different hotel out front an “upgrade,” though the room there was small, outdated, and nothing like the one we had chosen. He refused our request to stay in the room we’d booked, saying his was better. After we insisted on seeing it, he opened the door to find it already occupied, with someone else’s clothes and belongings inside. He had given our room away without telling us, then tried to pass off the other room as an upgrade. When we challenged this, there was no apology or explanation, just attitude and deflection, and he made us seem like the problem. The whole experience felt dishonest, disrespectful, and chaotic. Avoid this place.

Nikos, Kostas and Giannis make you feel like part of the family, and the hotel has a relaxed feel with a lovely pool. Mylopotas beach is just a two-minute walk across the road. We’ve stayed at The Argeon Hotel about ten times and have already booked for 2026. We’ve returned to this quiet, family-run hotel every year for five years. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and the beds are really comfortable. Nikos and his family are lovely hosts. It’s right by Mylopotas beach, and I’d highly recommend staying here.
