Hotel Afrodite Studios

I never stayed at the property, so this is about the booking process and the owner. I booked through booking.com in June last summer, and the property itself took a 50% deposit. I had to cancel for family reasons within the allowed time. When I asked for a refund, the property said it needed to check with booking.com first, in case they had refunded me too. After that, I heard nothing from either of them. From July 24 to January 24, I called the owner every couple of weeks and emailed as well, but got no reply. I contacted booking.com at least five times, repeating the story and sending proof of payment each time. On my last call, they said they had tried contacting the property several times without a response. The owner eventually replied that they would refund me within a month, but they didn't. Six months after I first booked, booking.com refunded me themselves, even though the owner had taken the payment. The owner is infuriating, unprofessional and greedy, and leaves a stain on Greek hospitality. Malaka. Be careful when the property handles its own payments. Booking.com wasn't at fault. They just take commission from the property for use of their booking system. I've never had an issue with booking.com or with any other property in Golden Beach, where I've holidayed for the last six years. I'm posting this because I saw that another man, Bogdan, had a similar problem with Studios Aphrodite and wrote a Google review. I hope he sees mine and keeps trying to get a refund.

Golden Beach is just a 2-3 minute walk from the studio. The room was lovely, with new furniture and really comfortable beds, and it was cleaned with fresh towels every day. The price was good, and I loved the place. I'd definitely choose it again if we come back. The guesthouse host is a very nice person and willing to help with any issue.

We had a spacious terrace with sea and mountain views, and a roomy, very clean studio with a kitchen area. The owners were helpful and quick to respond. This family hotel is right across from Golden Beach, and the price worked very well for us.

The huge sandy beach is a 2-3 minute walk away, and parking was always available. Our room was spacious, clean and new, with excellent Wi-Fi. The large terrace had a great view. Having three tables was unusual and handy: one in the kitchen, one spare, and one outside on the terrace. One of the best places we've stayed, and we'd be happy to return.
