Monachus Monachus Apartments

The beach is only a short walk away, and we also enjoyed the pool. Staff were lovely and helpful, lent us a beach umbrella for our stay, and gave taverna recommendations when we asked. We had a room for four with three air-conditioning units, one in each bedroom and another in the living room and kitchen, so the heat wasn’t an issue. The rooms were great.

It was a lovely apartment with a big balcony and a large pool where we could relax. We had everything we needed. The area is peaceful, set between the mountains and the beach, and the hosts were kind, thoughtful, and helpful.

The owners are genuinely kind, and happy to talk or help out. What you see in the website pictures is what you get, in a beautiful setting with three small room blocks, all with nice views. The apartments are comfortable and fully equipped, from the kettle to anti-mosquito devices. The balcony has enough room to eat or work. It’s a peaceful spot about a minute’s walk from the main road and two or three minutes from cafes and restaurants. The pool is a good size and clean. The place is great value for money and worked well for a quiet vacation. A couple of pictures on the living room walls might make it feel nicer, and a couple of power outlets by the pool would make things easier.

We stayed for a whole month at Monachus Monachus, and our family had an unforgettable holiday in Crete. The kids absolutely adored the hosts, who made us feel like part of their family. The hotel and pool area were clean and well maintained, and the facilities were top-notch. We cherished every moment and highly recommend Monachus Apartments to anyone wanting a wonderful vacation in Crete.
