Elea Beach

The one thing I liked was the picturesque location. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. If you want somewhere livelier, Ipsos Beach is only a 10-minute drive away and has a more vibrant atmosphere. The hotel felt more like an old-style sanatorium than a hotel, with very dated decor. Around 80% of the guests seemed to be retired Germans, and there were hardly any young people. Our room was outdated too. The shower leaked, water pressure was poor, and the bathroom ceiling was so low, about 1.9-2 m, that raising a hand comfortably was difficult. We only got water and tea once, when we arrived. Housekeeping was poor. Even after the room had been cleaned, there was still sand on the floor, and during our 4-day stay the sheets weren’t changed unless we complained. There weren’t enough loungers by the sea, and most had towels on them early in the morning to reserve them. There are only a few tolerable restaurants nearby, which didn’t help.

Corfu has some beautiful spots, but we found ourselves in an overcrowded, underwhelming area and wondering why we’d come, unless you’re spending thousands. Mass tourism is clearly taking a toll on the island. Also, some of the positive reviews seemed suspiciously local to me, so be cautious. As for Elea Beach Hotel, this was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. Within a day we had stomach problems that lasted for the rest of the trip, and several other guests said they had the same thing. It’s hard to think that was a coincidence. The food was bland, low quality, and, to me, borderline unsafe. I could barely call it food, let alone Greek cuisine. The rooms smelled moldy and were filthy, with broken fixtures and sheets that looked unchanged. The property seemed to be falling apart, from cracked tiles and neglected gardens to pools that looked like science experiments. It was nothing like the photos, and I left feeling scammed. We tried twice to speak with someone in charge, but the manager stayed in his office. There was no appearance, apology, or help. I’d tell people to stay away. I wouldn’t want anyone else dealing with disappointment, stomach infections, and wasted money.

The calm atmosphere made it a lovely place to relax and enjoy Corfu. It’s in a great spot in Dassia, with a private beach and crystal-clear water. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly and always ready to help. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Corfu.

The people working here made a real difference, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant team. They were consistently warm, helpful, and attentive. Everything felt relaxed and well run, and the stay was good value for money. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quieter at night than we expected. The buffet offered lots of choice, including Greek dishes and international food, and breakfast coffee got us going for the day. The pool and seaside loungers never felt overcrowded, and it was easy to reach water activities and nearby tavernas. Elea Beach Hotel is right on a calm, clear beach with lovely sunrise views, and just a short ride from the Old Town. It made our Corfu trip unforgettable. We’d happily come back.
