I’ve stayed at three five-star hotels in Corfu and travel a lot, so here’s my honest take: this one isn’t five star. The sea view is amazing, with the hotel facing right onto the water, and most of the staff were kind and helpful. But we had a very unpleasant incident with my nut allergy. We repeatedly told the waiters, yet they served us nuts. After I ate something that contained nuts, they laughed at us and insisted there were no nuts, even though there were. The hotel paid for a taxi to the pharmacy, but the restaurant staff showed little care or urgency. The food was very average at the main restaurant and the other two restaurants. The beach and pool food was okay. It’s all self-service, so you can’t really order directly from the waiters. Our room was tiny and nothing special, the layout felt awkward, and the bright bars with loud DJs had no real atmosphere. The rooftop bar gets no comment from me. There wasn’t enough space by the pool or on the loungers, so everything felt packed together. The lifts were tiny, looked cheap, and were confusing. The hotel isn’t bad and has what you need, apart from good food, but it doesn’t feel like a five-star stay. The price makes sense for the all-inclusive setup and the view, that’s all.

The staff were lovely and clearly trying hard, but seemed stretched thin. Housekeeping showed up between 8:30pm and 10pm on three nights in a row, left the floor dirty all week, and put the bottom sheet on sideways. It took us four days to realize why we kept waking up on the mattress protector. Ella Alkyna calls itself five-star luxury, but it didn’t live up to that. We ended up there at short notice after our original hotel fell through, so maybe our expectations weren’t quite right. It’s a big all-inclusive resort with nearly 350 rooms, nothing like a boutique hotel. Two bars and a restaurant were closed throughout our busy week, which meant buffet lines and repetitive food. The local tavernas are much better, so eat there instead. Our room faced a maintenance office, where staff talked loudly to each other early in the morning. The smoke detector flashed constantly above the bed, so bring an eye mask. Air conditioning was controlled centrally from reception, and the room stayed stuffy. The shower swung between scalding and freezing, and the bathroom door meant only one person could use the room at a time. The gym was great, possibly the cleanest part of the resort. If all you want is sun, pool, and beach without fuss, it’ll do. For genuine luxury, I’d look elsewhere.

We loved our nine days at Alkyna Lifestyle Beach Resort in Corfu, especially the spacious Junior Suite. It was spotless, had a large balcony/terrace, and a beautiful view. The bathroom was a little tight for two people at once, though. Our suite was on the hill, which suited us; getting there meant a walk, but it was a nice bit of exercise after all the food. I’d read negative comments about the food and don’t really understand them. Lunch and dinner matched or beat good restaurants we go to in Brussels. There were fresh, delicious choices at every meal, with Greek specialties and international dishes. The all-inclusive drinks impressed us too, with a generous choice of wines, cocktails, and other drinks, and everything really was included. We booked the à la carte restaurants three times, and each meal topped an already high standard. Service was kind and attentive throughout. Lenia’s complimentary yoga classes were just right for us, with plenty of times to choose from. The gym has a great view, both pools are lovely, and the beach is cleaned every morning. A few things could be smoother: reception could be faster, the online self check-in felt out of place for a five-star arrival, and we waited longer than expected to be taken to the room. The resort offers lots of activities, including yoga and à la carte dining, but we only found out about some of them late in the stay. Depending only on the app makes it easy to miss things, so an overview or leaflet in the room would help. Still, we absolutely loved our time here and are already thinking of coming back.

We stayed at Alkyna Lifestyle Beach Resort in May/June 2025, and it was a truly special visit. Our Sea View Swim-Up Junior Suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculately clean. Stepping straight into the swim-up pool made it feel private and indulgent, and we loved it. After we got engaged, we returned to find champagne on ice as a surprise. It was such a thoughtful way to celebrate, and the staff made us feel really cared for. Thank you for an amazing stay!

The location is beautiful, and the property is excellent overall. We booked on the first day of the season and had a housekeeping problem. Reception handled it well, though it took some time to get sorted, and it did put a damper on the start of our stay. The staff were a real highlight, especially Joanna from guest relations, who went above and beyond after the day-one mishap and made sure we left with good memories. The food and drinks were excellent, with great vegetarian choices. We’d definitely return.
