The pool showers barely worked, and the food was dull, bland, and showed no creativity or effort. The plastic cups even tasted of the previous person’s drink. Honestly, I could go on. With some effort, this could be an amazing resort, but right now it isn’t.

The staff were a mixed picture. Most of the team were fantastic and tried hard to make our honeymoon enjoyable, though it was clear some weren’t happy with the resort’s new direction. The closure of The Sandy Villas meant we had to eat at sandy beach and walk a short distance each day to the main family resort, which wasn’t adults-only. That was disappointing. We’d booked what was sold as a luxury, adults-only, all-inclusive stay, but it didn’t live up to that promise. Food quality varied and was often too salty, and there were few or no snacks during the day. Our swim-up villa was lovely, but its pool was dirty and poorly maintained. We had to ask to have it cleaned and the lights turned on. The main pool was even worse. With proper standards and attention to detail again, this place could be special.

I’ve stayed in lots of places, but this one was amazing. The food was really nice, and the service was excellent. Best of all, the staff were so good and treated us like friends.

The token system was a real nuisance. If you forgot your token in the room, you had to go all the way back. The wine was poor too, worse than some discount options at Lidl. And the food was awful: tasteless, very low quality, and presented in an unappetizing way. Food by the pools was even worse, like street food. We’re not picky eaters, but it was genuinely hard to find anything edible, so we had to eat outside. We’ve never had food this bad at a hotel. We booked a five-star holiday, but only got a five-star room. Sandy Villa had been merged with the much cheaper and worse sister property, Sandy Beach, and our overall service was downgraded to an official four stars. Honestly, I’d rate it three stars at most. Why were we downgraded without our agreement? We paid for a five-star standard across the stay, not just the room. The top management should speak with the staff and see how demotivated they are. You’re damaging the image and soul of this place. We’ll also send an official complaint to the tour operator. This was very rude behavior.
