Hotel Nautilus

The staff were nice, and there was a good view near the bar. I also liked the long steps down to the beach, where there were lots of fish, and the drinks were good. I stayed in June this summer, but the room didn't match what I'd seen on booking.com. The floor was a little dirty, the shower head and air conditioner didn't work, and I was sweating all night. The food was average, and there was a bit of a smell outside.

The view from our patio in the morning was breathtaking, and breakfast was really lovely, with different food each day. The apple pie was especially good. Rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh bedding and towels every day except Sunday. The staff were kind and helpful, and the reception man welcomed us warmly, gave us food, and drove us to our apartment. I've been to Corfu three times before and already knew the area had beautiful beaches. There were hardly any sockets in the room. We eventually found one, though the fridge was plugged into it, and managed to charge our phones. More outlets would help, especially since you need your phone for sat nav. There was no air conditioning at first, and no safe key; we paid extra to get air conditioning. There was also a wasp problem. I got stung on the leg and it hurt a lot, and we avoided the pool because of the wasps. Sorting out the nest would make a big difference. The beach decking was lovely and snorkeling was great fun, with plenty of fish. We hired a car, which I'd suggest if you don't plan to stay on the hotel grounds. The bar drinks were quite expensive, but it's a peaceful, scenic place with pretty trees, and I'd stay again. The staff work incredibly hard and are friendly. We had a spectacular view from our room, and the balcony got both shade and sun. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the minibus came in handy. The walk to and from Barbati beach was manageable for us, and we're around 60. We spent a week here in early June 2025 and loved it. There was great snorkeling by the hotel's private sun patios and bar. Fish swim right up when you get in, and bringing a little bread makes for a memorable experience and videos. The buffet worked perfectly for my Mediterranean diet, with lots of salads and balsamic vinegar alongside the olive oil. There were several choices of beef and lamb, chicken, and fish. The calamari was light and tender, just right. Breakfast had a wide range too, from cooked food and salads to cold meats and cheese, plus homemade kumquat jam, yoghurts with toppings, and homemade pastries. I definitely gained a bit of weight. I'd happily come back.

The balcony's partial sea view was stunning. It's a decent 3-star hotel, with good sized rooms and a great outlook from the pool area. The food is quite simple, and the rooms are fine, so don't expect anything fancy. Air conditioning costs an extra 6 euros/day. There are nice platforms over the cliffs with lots of fish swimming right beside you. Bring a swimming mask or goggles.
